The next CPMR Political Bureau will take place in Nantes (FR) on Friday 27 February 2015 at the invitation of Jacques Auxiette, President of Pays de la Loire Region. Mr Jean-Marc Ayrault, former French Prime Minister and MP for the Loire Atlantique will also be present.
After an introduction by Vasco Cordeiro, President of CPMR and of the Government of the Azores and Michel Vauzelle, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and of the CPMR Intermediterranean Commission, a debate will be held on cohesion, maritime affairs, accessibility and climate.
Political representatives will also discuss the Juncker Plan and, in particular, its implementation at Regional level. During this session, chaired by Roberto Ciambetti, Regional Minister on Budget and Local Authorities of the Veneto Region (IT), the European Commission will be represented by Rachel Lancry Beaumont, Deputy Head of Unit at DG REGIO.
A Speakers’ Corner on «Smart specialisations, maritime industries and territorial dynamics » will also take place during the day. The discussion on this topic will be introduced and chaired by Christophe Clergeau, 1st Vice President of Pays de la Loire Region. During this round table the private sector will be represented by Laurent Manach, Director of Pôle EMC2, and Jean-Claude Charrier, President of Neopolia.
On climate, delegates will also discuss the role of local and Regional authorities in UN process of International negociations, which are being carried out to reach a post-Kyoto agreement at the COP21 meeting in Paris.
The European Parliament will be represented by Isabelle Thomas, Member of the Intergroup on seas, rivers, islands and coastal areas and Ricardo Serrão Santos, Member of the Committee on Fisheries. They will both be present during the session on maritime affairs.
