Over 2000 institutions from all over Europe improved their regional policies through cooperation in 204 different interregional projects under the INTERREG IVC programme (2007-2013). With the new programme, called INTERREG EUROPE, there will be even more opportunities to benefit from interregional cooperation on research and innovation, competitiveness of SMEs, low-carbon economy, and the environment and resource efficiency.
With a budget allocation of EUR 359M, INTERREG EUROPE will begin in April 2015 with its first call for proposals. The programme will concern 30 partner countries involved in interregional cooperation, notably the EU28, Norway and Switzerland.
On 2-3 December 2014, in Bologna (IT), a conference was organised to allow policymakers and practitioners from all over Europe to exchange on the achievements of INTERREG IVC and use them as an inspiration for developing other project ideas for INTERREG EUROPE.
Almost 800 people met in Bologna and over 1000 connected online. The CPMR was also represented.
