The General Assembly of the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission will be organised on 6-7 May 2015 in the City of Vaasa (FI), at the invitation of Olav JERN, CEO of the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia.
Jari SAINIO, President of the Baltic Sea Commission and Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region, together with Vasco CORDEIRO, President of the CPMR and President of the Regional Government of the Azores, will open the debates that will focus on the new challenges of the Baltic Sea Area.
In the framework of this General Assembly, a Seminar on “Energy Union and Policies towards Greater Energy Security” will be also organised inthe presence of Miapetra KUMPULA-NATRI, Member of the European Parliament and Markku MARKKULA, President of the Committee of the Regions.
“With a revision of the EUSBSR coming up, as well as a new programming period, the Regions are working as intensively as ever. Our joint organisation is working especially in the field of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Energy – in all of which Regions have a vital role to play in order to bring prosperity in our macro-region and life into our common Sea,” declared Jari SAINIO.
