The “Vasco Da Gama project for the Black Sea” workshop was organised in Odessa on 5th June by the CPMR Balkans and Black Sea Commission within the framework of the International Transport Week.
The workshop discussions focused on Training for Sustainable Maritime Transport, Port Logistics and Management of Dangerous Cargoes, Fisheries and Aquaculture as well as Professional Water Sports and Coastal and Maritime Tourism.
Participants from the Vasco Da Gama Core Group attended the event, representing different maritime institution such as the Naval Academy of Bulgaria and the Batumi Navigation Teaching University of Georgia.
Concerning Ukrainian institutions, the Odessa National Maritime University (ONMU), the Odessa National Maritime Academy (ONMA), and the National University of Shipbuilding (NUOS) gave their contribution to the debates.
During the work, participants had the opportunity to talk about best practices and discuss the future steps of this initiative.
The workshop followed the CPMR presentation “Towards a Network of Maritime Education Institutions in the Black Sea: the Vasco da Gama Initiative” that was made the day before during the Plenary Meeting of the XIVth International Conference.
