The CPMR took part in the kick-off meeting of the EMBRC PP2 project in which it is a partner in Paris on 12 and 13 October. This project, co-funded by Horizon 2020, involves research centres located in 9 States that are members of the ESFRI EMBRC infrastructure. It will run for one year, from October 2015 to September 2016.
Under this project, the CPMR’s role will be to organise a link with the maritime Regions, following discussions organised over the past few months with EMBRC scientists. In this perspective, a Memorandum of Understanding will be prepared shortly. At the same time, the CPMR is producing a mapping of Regions supporting blue biotechnologies through their smart specialisation strategies and the ESI funds. A seminar on this issue will be organised in the first week of June 2016. In this regard, the project will contribute to the ongoing work led by the CPMR on blue growth within smart specialisation strategies and the follow-up to the Blue.invest conference organised on 22 September 2015.
