The Executive Secreraty of the CPMR Balkan and Black Sea Commission (BBSC) participated as a key speaker in the opening seminar of the DACIAT Project (Developing of Actual Competences and Improvement in Aquaculture Trade), kindly hosted by Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Marine Sciences, on 21 March 2019, in Trabzon (Turkey).

The main objective of the DACIAT Project, funded under the ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020, is to improve the existing aquaculture and aquaculture–related activities in the Black Sea Basin. DACIAT builds on a consolidated experience of exchange by moving towards concrete transfer of good practices in 4 Black Sea regions aiming to improve their competences, especially as regards support for aquaculture enterprises.  Apart from the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace (Greece), CPMR BBSC Member, the project led by the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (Romania), involves the Fishing Areas Federation (Romania), the Association of Cross-border Cooperation “Lower Danube Euroregion” (Romania), the Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Marine Sciences (Turkey), and the Agency of Sustainable Development and European Integration “Lower Danube Euroregion” (Ukraine).

The consortium was formed with the contribution of the CPMR Balkan and Black Sea Commission.

The opening seminar was followed by study visits to hatcheries and aquaculture facilities, where partners had the opportunity to see how they worked.
