The CPMR, in collaboration with the Basque Government, Lead Region of its External Cooperation Working Group, is launching a questionnaire with the aim of identifying experiences that can contribute to providing the core elements of a new generation of effective decentralised cooperation partnerships.
The information received from our partners all over the world will be used as a basis for the research study “Shaping a new generation of decentralised cooperation for enhanced effectiveness and accountability”.
This study is one of the CPMR’s tasks related to the objectives of the Strategic Partnership between the PLATFORMA network and the European Commission. It is conducted in collaboration with an appointed expert, Mr Agustí Fernández de Losada of Tornos Abogados.
The study aims to provide enhanced understanding on how to adapt decentralised cooperation models by regional and local authorities to meet strengthened standards of effectiveness and accountability, while fostering innovative approaches and partnerships. It will outline a set of concrete recommendations that will be presented notably during the Assises of Decentralised Cooperation on 10-11 July 2017 in Brussels.
We encourage our member Regions to share their experiences and those of other decentralised cooperation actors operating within their territories (e.g. cooperation agencies, academia, civil society organisations, etc.) in order to maximise the impact of the study.
Deadline for replies: 3 March 2017
