Cohesion CORE Group meeting

The CPMR “Cohesion Core Group” members gathered in Brussels on 10th April 2014. Mr Nicholas Martyn, Deputy Director General, DG REGIO, provided an update on the state of play in the Partnership Agreements and Operational Programmes for the 2014-2020 programming period. His presentation was followed by a lively discussion on the main issues being faced by the CPMR regions in the preparation of the programmes.
In turn, the CPMR presented its work plan for 2014 and 2015 which looks at the 2014-20 programming period with the establishment of a Monitoring Platform on Structural Funds implementation and a reflection process on the post 2020 to launch new ideas for the definition of allocation methods, use of indicators and the future of Cohesion Policy in general.
The meeting provided participants with the opportunity to discuss the problems they have been facing in the definition of the programmes and an update on the state of play of Partnership Agreements’ negotiations.
