The SMILEGOV project latest meeting and plenary workshop took place in Funchal, Madeira, from 24th to 26th March 2015 at the invitation of the Regional Agency for Energy and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (AREAM). The plenary session addressed different innovative financial mechanisms that can intervene as solutions in the process of an iSEAP planning. Participants from the different geographical clusters, from well-advanced to beginners islands, joined together for sessions of exchanges, debates and brainstorming to set up the definition, tools and process of four innovative financial mechanisms. They gained new insight and capacities that they could apply in energy planning when needed. Several participants expressed their feedback after this learning and lively working plenary meeting.
The day before, AREAM organised the visit of the PV solar and the wind park do Loiral and the Socorridos hydro power station. it was the occasion for the SMIELGOV participants to discover some of the installations that are part of the sustainable energy strategy developed in Madeira.
