The CPMR’s Balkan and Black Sea Commission (BBSC) called for unity and collaboration to improve the lives of citizens throughout the wider Black Sea region, during the ninth meeting of the Black Sea NGO Forum.

At the forum’s opening session, held in Varna, Bulgaria by the Romanian NGDO Platform – FOND from 31 October – 2 November, the CPMR outlined its perspective and ideas for connecting the Black Sea NGO Forum with other regional initiatives.

The CPMR also invited stakeholders from the region to work together to make improvements that support citizens, potential investors, and visitors to the area.

The event, which brought together around 130 participants, ranging from CSO representatives, to regional and international organisations and donors, was organised with the support of the European Commission and the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was run in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme – Regional Centre for Europe and Central Asia, the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE) and local partner, the Black Sea NGO Network (BSNN).

The Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), a sectoral dialogue partner of the CPMR, also took part in the opening session of the event.
