//ARCOPOL gears up for its final conference

Arcopol-PhotoThe partners of the ARCOPOL Platform project met on 16 June in Vigo at the invitation of the Technological Centre of the Sea – CETMAR Foundation (ES).

This meeting provided the opportunity for a final update on how work was progressing within the five main working groups of the project, the results of which will be presented at a final conference organised by the CPMR Atlantic Arc Commission on 14 and 15 September in Brussels. The conclusions of the project will be the subject of a debate at the European Parliament with different MEPs and members of the Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas Intergroup on 15 September (16.00 – 18.00) under the patronage of Alain Cadec, President of the Fisheries Committee and Vice-President of the Intergroup in charge of the Atlantic.

The ARCOPOL Platform project is co-funded by the ERDF under the Interreg IV B Atlantic Area programme and has two main objectives, namely to “further reinforce the protection of the coastal Atlantic Regions from maritime pollution” and to “set up the Atlantic Technological Platform”.
